Before entering property management, Keenan began his career in financial services — working in the financial control division of one of the world’s largest asset and wealth management firms. There, he was exposed to institutional-grade reporting, financial governance, and the rigorous standards expected when managing other people’s assets.

Shane built a strong reputation in the property industry through a consistent track record in residential sales and client advisory. Known for his strategic approach, professionalism, and ability to deliver results, he quickly established himself as a trusted figure among buyers, sellers, investors, and industry peers alike.

Before entering property management, Keenan began his career in financial services — working in the financial control division of one of the world’s largest asset and wealth management firms. There, he was exposed to institutional-grade reporting, financial governance, and the rigorous standards expected when managing other people’s assets.

He later joined one of Cape Town’s largest short-term rental operators, where he found a business with scale but without the financial infrastructure to match it. He rebuilt the company’s finance and control function from the ground up: implementing structured reporting, clear accountability, and the kind of financial visibility that property owners should expect as standard. His role expanded into operations, where he introduced systems and discipline to a previously fragmented business — eventually leading to his appointment as Managing Director.

It was this experience that convinced him there was a better way to run a property management company — one built on transparency, financial integrity, and genuine accountability to owners.

Shane built a strong reputation in the property industry through a consistent track record in residential sales and client advisory. Known for his strategic approach, professionalism, and ability to deliver results, he quickly established himself as a trusted figure among buyers, sellers, investors, and industry peers alike.

He went on to work with several high-profile Cape Town real estate agencies, gaining extensive experience across residential sales, rentals, and investor-focused property strategies. His strength has always been relationship-building — cultivating long-term partnerships with clients, agents, and principals that would later become instrumental in the growth of Top Host.

Together, Keenan and Shane identified a clear gap in the market: a company that treated properties as investments, owners as stakeholders, and management as a serious, hands-on responsibility. Top Host was founded on that conviction — and became profitable in its second month of operation.
